Female Wedding Kits
A kit is a small set usually handled by the Maid of Honor or an appointed participant involved in the bridal party should bring along to relief a possible emergency, for example “A water droplet hit the face of the bride affecting her make-up”. Wedding survival kits usually contain make-up for touchups, here are some other things included in the kit.
• Hairspray to keep the bride’s hair intact.
• Brush for styling the hair.
• Pins or Bobby pins to keep the veil in place.
• Curling iron to maintain the hair curls when worn down.
• Band aids to relieve foot blisters from shoes or slippers. Much better if the band aid is clear.
• Tampons or Napkins incase the female bridal parties have a sudden menstrual period.
• Slippers or flats for the bride to relieve foot pains due to wearing shoes for long periods of time.
• Nail glue, polish, and tips in case the bride’s nail is damaged.
If a brides nail break and you don’t have a matching nail color, remove the polish from the rest of the fingernails. Add a clear tip and apply a clear nail polish.
Male Wedding Kits
The groom and his male participants also have wedding survival kits. Unlike the bride, men require less touchup. They may stock an extra mens black sock in case their sock got wet for some reason and an extra handkerchief to wipe their faces with. Sometimes an extra cufflink and tie clip is needed in case they forgot to wear one or have lost it. A roller to remove lint is used to maintain the coat; scotch tape can also be used to remove lint if a roller is not available.Applying foundation once in a while can prevent the face from becoming oily but too much make-up will also turn up ugly. Keep in mind that men should act like men and that “less is more”.
Other stuff should also be included in the wedding survival kits.
• Stain remover pens.
• Chalk for stains on white clothing.
• Needle and thread to sew any rips.
• Masking tape and scotch tape for wedding decorations.
• An extra pen for visitors to sign the card.
• Medicines such as antihistamines (for allergies), aspirins, antacids and the like.
• Mobile numbers of every participant of the nuptial affair.
• Dental floss to get rid of food debris stuck between the teeth.
• Breathmints.
• Extra USB or CD for presentations just in case the original is lost or broken.
The important point to remember is to make sure that more than one person knows where the wedding survival kits are kept in case of a minor emergency happens they can assist the guest with it. Always secure the kit in a safe place to prevent it from being stolen or misplaced. Experts recommend bringing only the shades of make-up and nail polished to be used in the event, it is advisable to whoever’s been assigned to the kit to know the brands and shades that will be used.
